    DAVY JONES & POCOMANIA

    Bonjour,

i am trying to trace the history of Davy Jones on behalf of his daughter Pearl who hasn't seen or heard from him since she was two years old.

it would be helpful if anyone has information regarding his later life.

my French is not good enough to write to you in your language so hope you can understand my English.

if there is anyone you can think of that could help then we would love to hear from them.

    thankyou.

    Hello Steve White,

For all I know, Davy Jones is born on May 4, 1944 in Montreal (Canada), and like many young people at that time, he sang in the choir of the Church, spiritual traditional songs. It was discovered in 1959 by the producer of the show TV Shingig, Jack Good. from this moment, he sings around the world, and occurs in broadcasts presented by Dick Clark. everywhere in europe, and at the Olympia of Paris, with The Beatles, then in UK and a contract on the Pye Records label, for which he recorded a few singles, during the stay in the UK, he took part has several concerts including a November 24, 1961 at the famous Tower ballroom new Brighton Ballroom organized by Sam Leach, with the Beatles, and later in in Hamburg (Germany) with Klaus Dollinger Orchestra (aka Paul Nero) and finally to the Netherlands with his Pocomania band. With his Pocomania band, he sings now of Soul and R & B music in the clubs, including at the Lucky Star, he recorded the 'Davy Jones Live At The Lucky Star' album for the Soul Sound label, the June 29, 1967. A very Great album ! Davy has also recorded several singles for the label. Then, Davy Jones comes in France and worked with Janko Nilovik and recorded a great album with Funk sound  "Sookie Sookie" Davy Jones & The Voodoo Funk Machine on the Philips label in 1971 and a few singles from the album. Davy continues to work with Janko Nilovik for some singles, including Voodoo Ju Ju Obsession under the pseudonym: K. Pythacunthapuserectus. He had a lot of success in the clubs in Belgium during the year 1970, his records were playing in all clubs. I don't know what become then. I love much his Soul / R & B and Funk sounds, a Great artist! If you wish, you can me contacted on my email address: mightygroove@orange.fr
